Dubai’s First Indian Tapas – Reverly

The Dubai Hills food scene is getting pretty exciting lately. You might remember my post on Saylor’s – Best Fish & Chips in Dubai. Well, recently I checked out Reverly, located across from Dubai Hills Mall, in the Business Park. It has got a pretty cool concept, billing itself as Dubai’s first Indian Tapas spot. Indian food and tapas are two of my favourite things, and with it being a fully licensed cocktail bar, I’ll be honest, it would have to be pretty bad for me not to like it.

Indian Tapas & Cocktails

Reverly’s got a killer cocktail bar, surrounded by lush greenery. Their menu takes inspiration from the four seasons and offers options for both vegetarians and meat lovers alike. Heading up the kitchen is the award-winning chef Rahul Rana. What’s even cooler is that Reverly is brought to you by the same creative minds behind the legendary, 2-time Michelin-rated Tresind Studio. So if the hefty 900 AED per person price tag there isn’t quite in your budget, no worries! Reverly, their little sister, is offering dishes from as low as 12 AED.

Finger licking Good!

The food at Reverly is seriously finger-licking delicious, with each dish offering unique flavours and beautiful presentation that really give it an oomph factor. Even the poppadoms look like a work of art! Having visited twice now, I can honestly say that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every single dish. While the ghee roast lamb and chicken tikka masala were standout dishes for me, there wasn’t a single thing that failed to impress. I think I’ve nearly worked my way through the entire menu!

Offers

They offer a great happy hour with drinks priced at only 29 AED, running Mon-Thurs from 12-8pm. They also have a fantastic business lunch, which I’ll be reviewing soon for both you and me! And just so you know, my reviews are unbiased and not affiliated with the restaurant.

The Cons

I recommend booking in advance as it appears the cat is most definitely out of the bag. When we visited both on Friday night and Saturday, the restaurant was packed, and all tables were still occupied when we left around 11:00 pm. If I had to nitpick, my only gripe would be the surprise service charges and taxes at the end, which bump up the bill by about 22 percent. But hey, if you know about it beforehand, it won’t catch you off guard. Even with that, the bill was still pretty affordable, with dishes starting from just 12 AED. There is valet parking available, but it’s not free. However, based on my experience, in the evening, you can self-park for free nearby.

The Pros

Would I recommend Reverly? Absolutely! It’s a fantastic spot for a night out with friends or a romantic date night. The cocktails are top-notch, though I found the Indian-style Gin poori shot didn’t quite suit my palate, so I stuck to the classics – which were all fantastic. The pros? Great service, delicious food, and even the manager pops by to make sure everything’s up to scratch. It definitely holds its own compared to Carnival by Tresind. Honestly, it’s one of the best modern Indian/Indian fusion dinners I’ve ever had – do yourself a favor and GO!

What’s on TV in Dubai / Netflix, prime, Disney +

TV in Dubai

Want to know what’s on TV in Dubai? Just like anywhere else, you’ve got a lot of options, but there are a few things you need to know first. So, before you grab that remote, stick around for a few insider tips!

TV in Dubai

Dubai’s Streaming Scene

As the world shifts towards streaming services, we’re all aboard the bandwagon. Say goodbye to pricey cable packages packed with channels you couldn’t care less about and their sneaky political agendas. Just sign up for Netflix, Prime, and / or Disney, and voila! You’re set on all your devices, anywhere in the world.

Sweet Deals and Diverse Content

These services all function seamlessly in Dubai, and if you’re sticking around for a while, consider ditching your home country’s subscription—Dubai’s version often comes with a sweeter price tag. Bonus: Dubai’s Disney+ includes a treasure trove of Starz and Hulu content.

LGBT+ Representation and Streaming

Dubai’s pretty progressive, but when it comes to LGBT+ representation in cinema, their stance is a bit, well, mixed. However, when it comes to streaming, there’s no need to worry—explicit content is fair game, no modifications necessary.

Cable TV vs. Streaming

Sure, cable TV exists here; our internet provider (Du) kindly forced it upon us, but honestly, we couldn’t care less (we binned the box as soon as we got it). If you’re a sports fanatic, premium channels like Bein might be up your alley, but hey, most of that content’s available on streaming platforms too.

Getting Around Geo-Restrictions

Now, what if you’re craving content that’s geo-restricted, like BBC iPlayer or F1 TV Pro? Fear not, install a VPN on your TV or use Smart DNS. We won’t dive into the nitty-gritty here, Google’s got your back.

Exploring Alternative Options

And then there are the other options, “dodgy” boxes promising every movie and series under the sun for a one-time fee. Some work like a charm, some fizzle out, and some are just plain awful. Now, we don’t use or endorse these devices (they’re illegal, but you will totally get away with it), but hey, you might know someone who’s tried them or want to take a gamble at Dragon Market. Just remember to cross your fingers (seriously, ask a friend first).

Dubai Food Festival 10Dhs Dishes – Dubai Hills

Dubai Food Festival 2024

Get ready, because the Dubai Food Festival is back and better than ever! From April 19th to May 12th, 2024, foodies across the city are in for a treat with the return of those irresistible 10-dirham dishes. With hundreds of restaurants taking part, it’s the culinary event of the year!

Dubai Hills Mall

Dubai Hills Mall is a foodie’s heaven! From awesome restaurants to cozy cafes and dreamy cake and ice cream shops, it’s a paradise for food lovers like me. And guess what? Many places were offering the Dubai food festival dishes for just 10 dirhams – talk about a steal!

50 Dirham Challenge

As I always like to emphasize, I’m not affiliated with any restaurants. I only share what I love, and I pay for my own food. So, I rummaged through my purse and found 50 dirhams – not much, right? But wait until you see what I got with it, and keep reading to find out how much I saved!

Oportu – Bondi Burger

My Dubai food festival is off to a good start, the Bondi Burger at Oportu was a real winner. A succulent grilled chicken fillet made from 100% fresh chicken breast, topped with crisp lettuce, cheese, creamy mayo, and a kick of chili sauce. I’m glad I gave it a try; 10 dirhams well spent, and you can bet I’ll be back for more, even at the full price of 26 dirhams. It’s that good!

Chaiiwala Of London – Samosa Chaat

I walked past this place a lot, so I was happy to see they were participating. They’re offering the samosa chaat. Samosa chaat is a popular Indian street food dish made with samosas, chickpeas, yogurt, and chutneys. It’s savory, tangy, and bursting with flavour.

Their samosa chaat was spot-on – the samosa just warm, chana perfectly soft, and the chutneys excellently balanced. Overall a savory and satisfying snack.

WOFL- Sweet Heart Waffle

The waffles here are crispy, massive, and satisfyingly filling, almost like a waffle calzone. You can’t go wrong with fresh waffles, right? Especially considering they’re usually priced at 36 dirhams – talk about the ultimate bargain!

Circle of Crust

A 7-inch Margarita pizza for just 10 dirhams? Count me in! And you know what? It was pretty darn good too!

No meal is complete without a coffee and pastry right, so I headed to Costa coffee and grabbed their – lemon cream & pistachio cannoli with a classic coffee for just, you guessed it 10dhs!!!

So, are you impressed with my 50-dirham feast? The total for everything above would have been 149 dirhams, so I saved 99 dirhams! I highly recommend you take advantage of this event before it ends!

I couldn’t possibly try everything, but here’s a comprehensive list of all the other participating restaurants in Dubai Hills Mall.
