Folly Brasserie Brunch: Dubai’s Favourite Comeback

When I first moved to Dubai, Folly at Souk Madinat was the go-to spot for great food, drinks, and sunsets. So when it closed in April 2024, we were all gutted—and honestly, some of us are still mourning the loss.

But now, Folly is back—this time as Folly Brasserie at the Address Montgomerie. And let me tell you, it’s definitely worth adding to your brunch wishlist. Keep reading to see why.

Folly Brasserie Brunch: A British Summer Vibe (With Better Weather)

Folly Brasserie Interior

Let’s start with the obvious—this place is stunning.  I’ve visited my fair share of Instagram-worthy spots in Dubai, but walking into Folly Brasserie completely took my breath away.

It feels like you’ve stepped into the world’s classiest garden party—think English conservatory meets luxury picnic. Crisp black-and-white tiles, elegant olive trees, and so much natural light you’ll want to pop on your sunglasses before your first Folly Pop (yes, that cocktail with an actual ice lolly in it—more on that later). It’s like being in the Cotswolds… if the Cotswolds had Dubai weather and Champagne on tap .

Bring your best outfit, your appetite, and someone who’ll take 400 pictures of you under the olive tree.

Folly Brasserie Brunch: Where the Food Deserves a Standing Ovation

Right, let’s get into the main event: the food. Folly isn’t doing your standard brunch buffet with lukewarm pasta and mystery chicken skewers. No, this is a sit-down,course-by-course extravaganza—proper posh.

Folly Chips

Beautiful bite-sized starters made their way to our table, including fresh oysters, beef tartare served in cute little cones, and, of course, the star of the show: Folly chips. And let’s be clear—these aren’t just chips. They’re works of art. Think pave potatoes, layered like golden bricks, stacked with Jenga-level precision, and fried to crispy perfection. They come with a rich, creamy herby mayo. I genuinely wanted to eat the entire plate—but I had to pace myself. Brunch life problems, right?

And the main dishes? First, meaty monkfish in a dreamy butter sauce—pure bliss. Then, the showstopper: a Beef Wellington, brought right to your table and sliced with flair. It’s juicy, rich, with just the right amount of thyme and red wine jus. The beef? Cooked to perfection. My husband still swears Gordon Ramsay holds the Beef Wellington crown, but this one? It was good—no complaints.

The Sides at Folly Brunch: Comfort Food.

Side Dishes

Let’s give a round of applause to the side dishes. The mashed potatoes were so smooth, they could have doubled as moisturiser.

We were also given roasted herb pommes Parmentier—because clearly, one type of potato isn’t enough—and the sautéed greens dressed in nutty pesto and parmesan were delicious, too.

Folly Brasserie Brunch Desserts: Ice Cream That’ll Make You Reevaluate Reality

Just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite… along came dessert.

Folly Brasserie Brunch Desserts

The desserts included a rich baked chocolate dessert paired with blood orange sorbet, and a stunning white chocolate pavlova that was almost too pretty to eat. Both were delicious. But the real twist? Ice cream drizzled with olive oil and balsamic, topped with crispy sourdough.

Yes, you read that right—I said ice cream, olive oil and balsamic vinegar!

Balsamic and Olive Oil Ice Cream

It sounds like something your mate came up with after a few too many beers—but somehow, it works. Sweet, tangy, creamy, and totally bizarre in the best way. Why has no one thought of this before? It’ll make you question everything you thought you knew about life. It’s the kind of dish that wins awards—or at least sparks a heated debate about whether balsamic and olive oil belong in your dessert bowl.

Drinks: The Folly Pop & Friends

What’s brunch without a good drink or five? Folly Brunch delivers on the beverage front in a big way.

Folly Brunch Cocktail Folly pop

The standout? The infamous Folly Pop—a delightful mix of strawberry, pear, agave, and Prosecco, with a small ice lolly on a proper wooden stick popped into the glass. We’re all glad it’s made a comeback—it’s what everyone remembers from the old Folly.

Add in a rolling gin trolley, plenty of sparkling wine, and the option to go full Champagne glam, and you’ve got a very happy afternoon ahead of you.

Pro tip: Go with the Champagne package if you’re feeling bougie—it’s worth it just to say, “Oh, I’m just on the Champagne package, darling.”

Folly Brasserie Brunch – It’s a yes from me!

Let’s sum it up. Folly Brasserie Brunch is fabulous, from the garden-party vibes to the theatrical food and surprise desserts. It’s definitely not the cheapest brunch in town, but the quality, presentation, and experience are all top-tier. If you’re looking for a brunch that nails food, flair, and fantastic drinks, Folly Brunch is it.

Be warned: it can get pretty toasty when the sun’s high, so pack your SPF or choose a shadier table. The greenhouse aesthetic is beautiful, but the greenhouse effect? Less so.
