The Beam Dubai Sunday Brunch Review

I was so excited to try the Sunday brunch at The Beam by Chef Nick Alvis at Le Royal Meridien, and it more than lived up to expectations. We’ve been fans of Nick Alvis since his Folly days, so when we spotted him popping out of the kitchen mid-service, it was a bit of a “celebrity sighting” moment. Nice to know he’s actually running the show, not just another name above the door.

With both indoor and outdoor dining, it’s a proper foodie brunch relaxed but elevated in all the right ways. Brunch runs every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, and trust me, this one’s worth showing up hungry for. Here’s our full review…

The Sunday Roast That Stole the Show

Sunday roast lovers, prepare yourselves. The premium dry-aged beef cart, carved right at our table, was absolutely spectacular, perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and rich in flavour. The meat is actually dry-aged on-site, proudly displayed in fridges inside the restaurant (they’re seriously impressive). Paired with all the classic trimmings, every bite hit the spot.

You can also upgrade to the Beef Cart Roast Dinner for an additional AED 190 for two people and trust me, it’s worth every dirham.

Starters That Impress

The absolute highlight for me was the beef carpaccio with truffle, although everything else on the starters menu was great too. It set the bar high right from the start.

The Beam Mains

There were four of us dining, and we had two different menus, the regular and the beef cart upgrade (an additional AED 95 per person), which comes with all the Sunday roast trimmings. We shared everything, and honestly, don’t sleep on the beef cart. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were some of the best I’ve had in Dubai, and the beef, carved right at the table, was incredible. Huge generous slices made it easy for all four of us to share.

The regular menu included whole sea bass, which even my fish-loving friend found a bit underwhelming, but everything else was incredible. Wagyu sirloin was also on the menu and cooked beautifully, yet the beef cart at the table completely stole the show.

Drinks That Hit the Spot

We went for the sparkling package, which included high-quality Prosecco, and there were also pitchers brought to the table. My husband sampled everything he could and gave it all a thumbs up. Definitely a brunch where the drinks match the food.

The Beam by Nick Alvis Desserts

Desserts were insane. The star for me was the slow-baked caramel tart, so smooth and with the most perfect caramel flavour. Absolutely worth saving room for.

The Beam Atmosphere and Service

The setting at The Beam by Nick Alvis is light, airy, and effortlessly classy. There was a live singer who was fantastic, though it got a bit loud at times since we were seated right under a speaker. When we mentioned we couldn’t hear ourselves talk, the staff immediately unplugged it, which is exactly the kind of service you dream about. Honestly, they were absolutely faultless.

Enjoying some after brunch cocktails

After brunch we headed outside and treated ourselves to some happy hour cocktails at the bar. Again, excellent service and a perfect end to one of the best Sunday roasts and brunches in Dubai. Everyone in our group agreed it was a winner.
