This week my friend and I checked out the ladies’ night deal at Moli by Shi in Dubai Hills.
We’re not shy when it comes to spending on great food. But if we’re going to remortgage our lives for a few bites, those bites better be phenomenal. That’s why we’re forever trawling through the ladies nights, brunches and business lunch deals. Think of it as restaurant auditions. If a place passes round one, we return full-price and full-bellied.
So, did Moli by Shi make the cut, or was it all sizzle and no soy sauce? Well let’s find out!
Let’s start with the obvious—Moli by Shi is absolutely stunning. Like, can-I-live-here level stunning. From the second we walked in, it was clear this place takes its aesthetics very seriously. And not in an intimidating, “don’t touch anything” way. It’s warm, bold, and artsy in all the right places. Even the menus looked like they’d been designed by someone who reads architectural journals for fun.
We arrived bang on 8pm, and by 8:30pm the place was buzzing. Not just with ladies either—clearly word’s out. It’s got that nice mix of glam but not pretentious. You can sip wine and people-watch to your heart’s content.
We got a gorgeous table right in the middle of the action and asked for the ladies night menu. Pro tip: they don’t bring it unless you ask. It’s almost like a little secret… but not anymore. Sorry, Moli by Shi.
Let’s talk value. For AED150, you get free flow drinks and a few small plates. Emphasis on small. If you’re dreaming of a jeans-unbuttoning feast, bring snacks or schedule a pit stop at your fridge later.
The cocktail list? Small but cute. We tried the Kir and the Margarita. Both were… fine. We ended up sticking to the wine, which was honestly great.
Now, the food:
Edamame: Not usually something we eat, but we tasted a few and these were seasoned to perfection.
Spicy French beans: Surprise hit! I inhaled them. My spice-fearing friend gave them side-eye the entire night.
Crispy prawns: So good we asked for seconds. And they actually brought them. Bonus Points, Moli!.
If your experience of “live entertainment” usually means a guy butchering guitar ballads at full blast, relax—Moli by Shi knows what it’s doing. The DJ had great taste and even better volume control. Between sets, a singer glided around the room, adding just enough atmosphere without turning it into a concert.
It’s got all the night-out energy, minus the chaos. Perfect for date night, girls’ night, or a low-key birthday.
Now listen. I know talking about toilets in a restaurant review is odd, but stay with me. Because if you’ve ever been to Dubai Hills Business Park, you’ll know the struggle—most of the restaurants here share communal loos. Which means awkwardly leaving your table, wandering down the corridor, and queuing up next to someone who just came from the pizza place down the hall.
Not at Moli by Shi. Oh no. These legends have their own private toilets. Not only are they exclusive, but they’re also beautiful. Like five-star-hotel-meets-high-end-spa beautiful. And that, my friends, was the moment they won us over completely.
Honestly, they had us at prawns. But they sealed the deal with their loo.
So, is Moli by Shi’s ladies night good value?
Surprisingly… yes. Just don’t turn up absolutely starving—unless you’re planning to order from the main menu (which, honestly seemed well-priced). The small plates are more elegant nibbles than full-on feast.
That said, the free-flowing drinks more than make up for it. Beautiful setting, great music, and glasses that somehow never stay empty?
We’re already eyeing up the Friday night brunch—why not, it’s within stumbling distance of home.
Here’s the menu if you’re curious.
