The Sunday roast Dubai at Goose Island is a carvery experience, offering fantastic value at just 145 AED for essentially a three-course unlimited menu. The children’s menu is also a steal at 70 AED!.
The meat was accompanied by a generous selection of vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower cheese, and deliciously sweet peas. The roast potatoes were not traditional roast potatoes but small potato cubes, which were cooked to perfection and seasoned well, though my husband missed the traditional roasties. The cauliflower cheese, while cooked perfectly, lacked any real cheese flavour.
Yorkshire puddings were also made at a live cooking station. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the buffet, there was just one left in the bowl, and it had been there a bit too long, becoming dry. However, more were being cooked fresh in the oven, and I’m confident that a piping hot one straight out of the oven would have been fantastic. Although we were too impatient to wait for one 🙂
The desserts were a highlight, with options including banana cake, lemon meringue tart, and a delicious pineapple crumble. Accompanied by whipped cream and homemade custard, they were a perfect end to the meal. A funny moment was when my husband snuck a piece of pork crackling onto his dessert plate—clearly, the pork was that good!
