Bubbalicious Brunch: A Roast to Remember
If there’s one brunch in Dubai that everybody and their dog seems to know about, it’s The Bubbalicious Brunch at The Westin. The Saturday feast is famous for its over-the-top offerings, but let me tell you about its lesser-known (but equally impressive) sibling: Bubbalicious Roast.
Launched in late 2022, this Sunday brunch is all about bringing people together over a proper roast—with a bit of Dubai flair, of course. Whether you’re gathering with friends for a boozy lunch or looking for a family-friendly feast, this one ticks all the boxes. And yes, we’ve been back so many times we’ve practically lost count.
First Impressions
The Bubbalicious Roast takes place at Mina’s Kitchen in The Westin, and from the moment you step inside, you’re instantly hit with an English summer garden vibe that practically begs you to grab a Pimm’s.
It’s AED 450 with English bubbly, AED 350 for house drinks (everything but bubbly), and AED 295 for soft beverages. Kids 6–12 are AED 200, and under-6s eat free—perfect for families!
Bubbalicious Brunch Starters
Before hitting the carvery, we made a beeline for the starter stations. The charcuterie spread had a great selection of cured meats, with some tasty pork options thrown in. But for us, the real highlight was the ice station, piled high with oysters, prawns, crab legs, lobster, and clams. Of course, we went straight for the oysters.
The Roast
The undeniable star of Bubbalicious Roast is, of course, THE ROAST. It’s a carvery straight out of a dream, and trust me, they’ve gone all out. My favourites? The pork section—a glorious spread of succulent roast pork, juicy gammon, plump sausages, and perfectly crisp suckling pig. Oh, and let’s not forget the beef, so tender it might have been marinated in magic. Honestly, unless they hauled in a camel from the desert, I’m not sure they could’ve added any more meat options!
And then there was the turkey—a December special served with all the trimmings, which had me coming back for seconds.
The pies were a really nice surprise too—steak and mushroom, chicken pie, and even spinach and pumpkin, along with some veggie tarts and a beetroot Wellington. While I didn’t try the beetroot Wellington, it certainly looked the part and definitely piqued my curiosity. The sides were equally impressive, from creamy spinach to buttery green beans with crispy shallots.
The roast potatoes were golden and crisp, but I did find the Yorkshire puddings a bit dry, which can sometimes happen at a buffet. Thankfully, the gravy station made up for that! With three types of gravy—yes, three—and every condiment you could possibly imagine, it was impossible not to find something to drown your meal in. My husband was especially thrilled with the red cabbage, which may have been a December special, but was definitely one of his favourites.
Bubbalicious Brunch: Cheers!
Now, what’s a brunch without drinks? Bubbalicious has it all: wine stations, cider, beer, and even a cocktail station with three cocktail options (we did try to go off-menu but were told only three options were available), and bubbly that never stops flowing.
Desserts
And then, just when you think you can’t possibly eat another bite, you see the desserts. I’m not sure how to fully capture the magic of that sweet table without sounding like I’m exaggerating, but it was a table so laden with sweets it could give Willy Wonka a run for his money. Dark chocolate mousse? Check. Mini tarts and cheesecakes? Check. Dubai gold leaf? Ahem, check! And because it was December, there were festive treats like stollen and yule log. And let’s not forget to mention the wow factor of chocolate fountains that had both kids and adults equally mesmerized.
Family Fun at Bubbalicious Roast
If you’ve got little ones in tow, Bubbalicious Roast has thought of everything to keep them happy. The kids’ dining section is a mini buffet of childhood dreams, featuring comforting classics like shepherd’s pie with fluffy mash, crispy fish and chips, and bangers with creamy mash and onion gravy. While the grown-ups sip bubbly and tackle the roast, the kids are entertained with fun activities and a playful atmosphere that makes the whole brunch a treat for all ages. It’s a win-win situation—happy kids and even happier parents!
Why We’ll Keep Coming Back
There’s something about The Roast at Bubbalicious Brunch that just works. Maybe it’s the live music creating those perfect Sunday vibes, or the fact that the staff makes you feel like royalty. Maybe it’s the way every single person—whether they’re six or sixty—finds something to love.
Whatever it is, we’re hooked. It’s a perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with friends, family, or anyone you want to impress. Plus, with the option to stroll along the resort’s private beach afterward, it’s basically the perfect day wrapped in a bow.
So, are we already planning our next visit? Absolutely. And if you haven’t been yet, let me tell you: this isn’t just a roast. It’s a Bubbalicious Roast, and that makes all the difference.
