Dubai tourist Apps! You’ll often hear, “There’s an app for that!” in Dubai, and it’s true—there’s an app for nearly everything! With so many options, it might make your head spin, but don’t worry! I’ve gathered some of the best free apps in Dubai.

Apps For Travelling Around

  • Careem App – For rides in Dubai, Careem and Uber are top picks. With Careem, you can choose between luxury rides and budget-friendly Hala taxis (cream cabs), and get a fare estimate before you book. I prefer Careem for its economical options and use Uber as a backup during rush hours.
  • Waze App – is essential for navigating Dubai’s complex roads. It outperforms Google Maps with real-time updates and route adjustments. Avoid the chaos of a busy 7-lane highway with its smart route suggestions and lane guidance. For more driving tips, check out – Driving in Dubai.
  • Google Maps App – Chances are, Google Maps is already on your phone, and while I don’t recommend it for driving it’s a lifesaver for planning public transport routes. It neatly lays out your journey, combining metro lines, buses, and walking routes.

    Dubai Apps for Staying Connected

    Dubai Facetime

Accessing video and voice calling apps like WhatsApp, Skype, and FaceTime is restricted in the UAE. To use these apps, you’ll need a reliable VPN. Here, you can learn – How to use FaceTime in the UAE.

    • NordVPN Unlocking FaceTime in Dubai? NordVPN’s got your back! With a whopping 5,900+ servers across 60 countries, it’s a top pick at $2.99/month. It hides your VPN usage and, hey, it’s totally private.
    • Botim App -FaceTime and WhatsApp calls? Nope, not here without a VPN. However, fear not! BOTIM steps in as an alternative. While I don’t personally use it, many tourists love BOTIM. It’s perfect for avoiding call charges and roaming fees, so try it for Wi-Fi calls. Additionally, it simplifies calling for tourists with its voice and video features. Just keep in mind that the person you are calling needs to have the app too. Learn more about mobile data in Dubai here.
