You’re in the right place! In this post, I’ll share my top tips for planning an unforgettable party without the stress. After years of hosting, I’ve found the best suppliers and strategies to make your party a hit, whether it’s a Halloween party or any other celebration. Follow my foolproof guide to create a memorable event your guests will love. So, pour yourself a drink and read on for the top five tips I used to create our recent amazing Halloween party!

1. The Guest List

Once you’ve settled on your theme and compiled your guest list, don’t wait—send out those save-the-dates ASAP! Next, create a WhatsApp group to easily share all the details and updates. It’s a great way for everyone to connect and build excitement. Plus, after the party, everyone can share their photos with ease!

2. The Clean-Up Crew

For an outdoor party, a clean garden is a must—especially if, like ours, it’s been collecting dust all summer!. Instead of spending our entire weekend scrubbing, we called in the pros at Xclean. I’d used them before for window cleaning and was impressed, so this time, we asked them to work their magic on the garden. They flew in like fairy godmothers—no wands, just pressure washers—and transformed everything!

Their package deal was a lot cheaper than others I contacted, and they made our patio, grass, pergola, and furniture sparkle. Even the windows got a shine! I highly recommend Xclean—they were worth every dirham!

3. Party Food

For catering, we wanted a casual BBQ with high-quality meat, so I turned to Springbok Butchery, a South African butcher (do I even need to say “Braai”?). They were the perfect choice! After reaching out to five different catering companies—who were either too pricey, too fancy, or simply didn’t get the brief—Springbok delivered exactly what we needed.

We picked a meaty menu of marinated lamb skewers, chicken skewers, veggie skewers, gourmet burgers, and boerewors (beef sausages), plus coleslaw. They provided the BBQ equipment, plates, cutlery, and sauces—all included in the price! The food was absolutely incredible, and we had plenty left over. Trust me, letting someone else handle the food is the key to truly enjoying your party!

Bonus Tip: If you’re aiming for a more elegant vibe, I highly recommend Dish Catering. I’ve used them for a big birthday party, and they truly deliver the wow factor with their impressive food and setup.

4. Dubai House Party – Drinks

For the bar service, we hired Cliff Mix N’ Party, and we couldn’t be happier! We got to select our own cocktails, and they even suggested some Halloween-themed options. They provided us with a shopping list to buy the ingredients while they handled the glass hire, as well as the purchase of dry ice and ice. The team arrived at 6 p.m., looking sharp in black uniforms, and set up a bar that looked amazing—complete with a fun neon sign!

We had pre-selected cocktails, but the bartender happily made other cocktails and drinks on request. The cocktails were delicious and looked really theatrical with the dry ice. Best of all, the two waitstaff were super friendly, making sure everyone had drinks and clearing away empty glasses!

Bonus Tip: To add a personal touch, I designed a custom bar menu titled Spookeasy and displayed it in a stylish stand I got from Amazon. It looked great sitting on the bar!

5. Add Your Personal Touch

While professional food and drinks are great, it’s the personal touches that your guests will truly remember. I love adding my own flair to parties, and with the drinks, food, and guest list sorted, I had plenty of time to decorate the villa. Alfred (the skeleton) got a good dusting, and I set up a spooky tablescape.

I also arranged a fun Halloween-themed table with light refreshments for everyone to enjoy upon arrival.

My cheese ball pumpkin was a big hit—yes, it tasted even better than it looked!.

Bonus Tip: Don’t overlook the audio-visual and music setup! My husband took the reins for our party, creating a fun, eye-catching loop on the TV whilst playing a spooky playlist. He absolutely nailed it, and the whole setup really added to the atmosphere.

Time To Party

Our guests blew us away with their incredible costumes. We have some super creative friends, and here are a few of my favourites!

I dressed up as Wednesday Addams and was pretty pleased with my effort, if I do say so myself—haha! Pixel (our dog) was dressed as a security guard and took his job very seriously.
