Lucia’s Mare – Dining On the beach
Finding Luica’s Mare
Lucia’s Mare is tucked away at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, offering free valet parking (always a win) and a buggy to whisk you from the hotel to the restaurant. But honestly, it’s only a six-minute walk, and in this weather, we figured—why not? Pro tip: pack a little patience because there are no signs (seriously, Lucia’s, some arrows would be great). After a scenic stroll and a couple of “Are we there yet?” moments, we arrived.
First Impressions of Lucia’s Mare
As soon as we arrived at Lucia’s Mare, we were blown away. Located right on the beach, with the Burj Al Arab practically at arm’s length, it felt like we’d stumbled into a postcard. Soft sand, the sound of waves crashing, and an Italian-inspired vibe that instantly put us in holiday mode.
Service at Lucia’s Mare
Service kicked off with a bang. Our waiter was super friendly and even offered to whip up a spaghetti Bolognese for me, even though it wasn’t on the menu. Talk about going above and beyond! However, as the place got busier, the service did slow down a bit. Nothing major, just a little less personal. Still, overall, the staff made us feel comfortable and welcome.
Lucia’s Mare Menu Highlights
The menu fits the setting perfectly—light, tasty, and easygoing. The pasta was cooked al dente, the calamari crisp and perfectly done, and the Lucia’s Salad, with its mozzarella, grilled peach, and blood orange dressing, was really delicious. The pizza was solid too. While nothing blew us away, the food was undeniably good and matched the laid-back beach vibe effortlessly.
The desserts were definitely a highlight. With generous portions perfect for sharing (two desserts were more than enough for the four of us), they looked almost too good to eat—almost. And thankfully, they tasted just as amazing as they looked.
Lucia’s Mare cocktails
If you go, please don’t skip the cocktails. The Limoncello cocktail was an absolute standout—elderflower cordial, prosecco, and limoncello blended into a fizzy, zesty masterpiece. It was the perfect way to toast to the afternoon. If this cocktail was a person, I’d invite it to every party!
Heaters & blankets at Lucia’s Mare
As the temperature dropped, the staff at Lucia’s Mare had us covered—literally. They turned on the outdoor heaters and wrapped us in cozy blankets to keep us warm. It was just what we needed to enjoy the view a little longer.
Will we return?
Lucia’s Mare is a gem. The combination of beachfront views, good food, and friendly service makes it a winner in my book. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, sip a cocktail, and forget about life for a while. Will I be back? Absolutely.
