Pet Taxi Dubai: Quick Guide

When Taxis in Dubai Say ‘No Pets Allowed’

Did you know you can’t take your pet in an RTA taxi, Careem, or Uber in Dubai? No cats in carriers. No dogs on laps. Nothing.

This week, my usual driver (also known as my husband) put his back out. So there I was, no car, a dog, and a vet appointment in two hours. What now?

The last minute scramble for a Pet Taxi

I wasn’t keen on rescheduling, as I had no clue when my husband would be back in driving shape. So I did what all responsible adults do: I Googled it.

The top result was one of the big names I’d heard of before. Great reviews, but the price was… well, a bit more than I wanted to spend for a quick vet run. So I kept scrolling and came across Smiles for Tails Pet Taxi Dubai, a service run by a fellow pet mum. It felt more personal, had great reviews and their pricing was far more reasonable.

The Google link took me straight to their Instagram page, which had a WhatsApp link. I messaged them, and got a quick reply. After sending over Pixel’s pickup and drop-off details, I was quoted AED 200 for a return trip, including 40 minutes of waiting time. They also accept card payments, which is a lifesaver when you’re juggling a leash, a bag, and a wriggly dog.

The car showed up right on time, a comfortable SUV with a soft blanket on the back seat and proper dog seat belts. There was even room for crates if needed. I half expected it to smell like a hundred wet dogs, but it smelled fresh and was spotless.

Pixel-approved

Pixel, who normally hates car rides and pants the entire way, surprised me. He hopped in, lay down on the blanket, and looked like he was ready for a nap. The AC was on, I sat beside him, and the whole ride was calm and comfortable.

The driver was lovely. He helped us in and out of the car, waited patiently in the car park during the vet appointment, and didn’t rush us at all. The whole experience was smooth and completely stress-free.

Save a Pet Taxi Dubai in your contacts

If you’re ever in a last-minute situation with no car and a pet that needs to go somewhere, I can’t recommend Smiles for Tails Pet Taxi Dubai enough. This isn’t an ad, and I’m not affiliated with them in any way, I just genuinely had a great experience and wanted to share it with you.

This could be a lifesaver for your housekeeper or pet sitter when you’re away. Whether it’s a planned trip or a vet emergency, it’s good to know a reliable pet transport option exists in Dubai.

Here’s their instagram page which contains a WhatsApp link if you want to save it for later:

Pixel didn’t love the vet visit, obviously, but for once, he wasn’t stressed during the car ride. That alone makes using a Pet Taxi in Dubai totally worth it.
