The Strand Craft Kitchen: One of the Best Sunday Roasts in Dubai?
Winter in Dubai means one thing roast dinner season. The Strand Craft Kitchen has been on my list for absolutely ages. It’s always mentioned as one of the best places for a Sunday roast in Dubai, so when my book club Pinot & Pages, run by a proper foodie suggested meeting there, I was in.
First Impressions
You’ll find The Strand along the Palm Jumeirah waterfront, right before the promenade. Inside, it’s relaxed and welcoming, no fuss, no pretence, just a nice spot for a proper roast. We sat indoors with sunset views over the water, but the outside terrace looked perfect for cooler evenings.
The Sunday Roast Deal
The Strand offers a good mix of roasts, all served with a pudding and your choice of mashed or roast potatoes. I was torn between the lamb and beef but went with beef in the end. Drinks are on the pricey side. My large Magners cider was AED 65, and my total bill, including drinks and an extra side, came to just under AED 400.
The Roast Taste Test
The beef roast was spot on, tender, juicy, and full of flavour, with rich, homemade gravy that tied everything together.

The sides were just as good. The green beans had a nice crunch, the carrots were buttery perfection, and the Yorkshire pudding was huge, fluffy, and properly homemade. The roast potatoes could have used a bit more crunch, but they were still soft and tasty.
The truffle cauliflower cheese (an extra) was creamy with a light hint of truffle, though I expected it to be a bit more indulgent. I would probably skip it next time, as you already get plenty on your plate. The red cabbage added sweetness, and the horseradish sauce was creamy, fiery, and easily one of the best I have had in Dubai.
The Strand Craft Kitchen Dessert
The sticky toffee pudding was warm, soft, and sweet without being heavy, the kind of dessert that makes you smile. It came with just the right drizzle of toffee sauce and a scoop of ice cream.

As always, I couldn’t help keeping an eye on the plates around me, and the girl next to me had a carrot cake that made me question all my life choices. It looked too good to ignore, so it’s firmly on my list for next time.

Dog-Friendly and Parking Perks
The Strand is dog friendly both inside and outside, which adds to its charm. A few pups were snoozing under tables, giving the place a relaxed, friendly feel. Parking was easy too, and they validate up to three hours free while you dine.
Final Thoughts
The Strand Craft Kitchen definitely earns its spot among the best Sunday roasts in Dubai. The food is hearty, the service friendly, and the vibe relaxed, everything you want from a proper roast spot.
Drinks are on the pricier side, but honestly, it’s a small trade-off for great food and those Palm views.
