Dog Friendly Places in Dubai: Guide to JLT’s Best Spots

If you’re on the hunt for dog friendly places in Dubai, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) should be right at the top of your list. It’s one of the most walkable neighbourhoods in the city, with shaded lakeside paths, a dedicated dog park, and more cafés, pubs and restaurants than you could possibly get through in one weekend!

JLT isn’t just pet-friendly, it’s pet-proud. Water bowls appear out of nowhere, tail wags everywhere, and staff who look just as excited to see your dog as they are to see you. Honestly, it’s one of the best areas in Dubai if you want to eat, stroll or grab a coffee without leaving your furry best friend at home.

JLT’s dining scene has quietly become one of the most dog friendly places in Dubai, with outdoor terraces, shaded spots and even the occasional dog treat on arrival. It is not always clear from the websites, so I thought I would share the most trusted local dog friendly favourites.

 

1762 JLT

A relaxed, gourmet deli spot at ONE JLT with dog-friendly outdoor seating. Expect salads, sandwiches, pastries and genuinely lovely staff who never forget to bring water bowls.

The Black Sheep

A proper British gastropub feel, complete with a cosy beer garden where pets are welcome. The space is partially enclosed and even air-conditioned in summer. Great pub comfort food, even better vibes.

Maiz

If your dog enjoys people-watching while you enjoy tacos (a perfect combination, to be honest), Maiz in Cluster Y is a must. Homemade tortillas, fresh flavours, and a bright outdoor area for pets.

UBK (Urban Bar & Kitchen)

UBK has mastered the art of chilled-out dining. Pets are welcome on the shaded terrace.

Little Bangkok

One of the UAE’s most popular Thai restaurants, and happily a dog-friendly one too. The lakeside terrace is shaded, breezy and comes with dog bowls on request.

Dog Friendly Cafés in JLT

If you’re looking for cafés that welcome dogs (and their humans) with open arms, JLT has some of the best dog friendly places in Dubai for your morning coffee or mid-week treat.

 

Aria & Bianca (Indoor Dog Friendly)

This one is a favourite among dog owners for a reason. Not only is the café pet-friendly, but it has its own indoor dog park. Yes, really. Your dog can socialise while you enjoy bubble tea or a smoothie.

LDC Kitchen + Coffee

A solid neighbourhood go-to with a pet-friendly terrace and some of the best breakfasts around. Staff are always lovely and will happily bring water for your pup.

Friends Avenue Café

Cosy, friendly and very community-driven. Their terrace is pet-friendly, their cakes are excellent, and the staff always make sure pets have water.

Splendour Fields

A leafy terrace overlooking JLT Park, wholesome dishes and lots of weekend energy. If your dog enjoys lounging under your table while you eat something delicious, this is the spot.

And then there’s the JLT Dog Park.

• Location: Cluster H, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, super easy to find and right in the heart of JLT

• Opening Hours: 8am to 9pm every day, which is perfect for early walks or a late afternoon play

• Cost: Totally free, which is always a bonus

• Who Can Go: Doesn’t matter if you live in JLT or just visiting, anyone can bring their dog

• Age Limit: Puppies are welcome, but they need to be 4 months or older

• What to Bring:

  • A Dubai Municipality ID tag on your dog’s collar

  • A leash for entering and leaving the park

  • Water (Dubai summer is brutal!)

• Not Allowed: No food or treats, keeps everyone happy and safe

• Rules:

  • Keep your dog leashed until you’re inside the off-leash area

  • Pick up after your doggie (obviously)

  • Make sure your dog is vaccinated and behaves around other dogs

  • Supervise your dog at all times

I love how the park has enough space for the dogs to run around, plus it’s a great spot to meet other dog owners.
