Christmas in Dubai brings a different kind of magic for me. Back home in the UK, we always wish for snow on Christmas day, so having sunshine instead feels a bit odd, doesn’t it? But here, with the sun setting around 17:30 and a slight chill in the evening air, it starts feeling like Christmas in Dubai. Dubai really goes all out for Christmas with loads of events, and our friends always plan exciting Christmas activities.

 

Christmas in Dubai – Kick Off

Last weekend was amazing as my friends and I kicked off our Christmas celebrations! Imagine this: I’m at my friend’s villa, super excited for something special—a wreath-making workshop, hosted by the incredibly talented Loussine from Sage & Twine. We were all set for a night filled with creativity and holiday vibes. I’ve always wanted to try my hand at wreath-making, so you can imagine my excitement!

 

A Festive Wreath-Making Evening

Eight ladies gathered around an extra-long table covered with everything we needed to craft our wreaths. Excitement for Christmas filled the air, mixed with a hint of concern about our wreath-crafting skills. I secretly thought my wreath might not turn out so great. Our friend spoiled us with yummy treats—warm mince pies, loads of mulled wine, Christmas tree-shaped snacks, and fun music. It certainly made celebrating Christmas in Dubai feel extra special.

 

Christmas in Dubai – Unique Wreaths

 

We were offered the choice between fresh or faux materials. Unanimously, we opted for the faux option at 275 AED per person, which included all the necessary materials of top-notch quality. With her expert guidance, we embarked on our wreath-making journey, following her lead to create personalized wreaths. It was truly a wonderful Christmas experience in Dubai.

 

Revealing Our Masterpieces

 

As the evening unfolded, our wreaths took on their own personalities. Despite using identical materials, each wreath had its distinct character. Some flaunted shiny golden balls, while others took on a rustic, countryside vibe—a reflection of the diverse Christmas spirit in Dubai. Loussine’s materials made it easy for us to create eye-catching wreaths! I was absolutely thrilled with mine, proudly bringing it home in the taxi. Now, I just need to figure out how to hang it on my front door!
