If you’re looking for a fun night out with a real vibe, this one’s for you. It was a random Tuesday… well, not that random, it was hubby’s birthday! Our close friends wanted to celebrate with him, and since I’d hijacked him for the weekend, we needed somewhere with a buzz on a school night. Lucky for us, we found it at Miss Lily’s based in the Sheraton Grand Hotel.
Miss Lily’s is a Caribbean restaurant that throws a weekly Tuesday party night called Jerk ‘n Lime. There are two deals
AED 250 – unlimited personalized jerk platter for 2 hours, plus endless sides and three drinks
AED 150 – drinks package with 5 cocktails or House Wine. Perfect for us, since we love cocktails.

We booked 8.30pm for 8 people. When we arrived, the place was empty, and the server only offered high tables on the dancefloor or a corner lounge for 2 hours. We all squeezed into the corner lounge with one small table, feeling a bit confused… but that would make sense soon enough.

We all went for the drinks package, which was a no-brainer. Cocktails are individually priced around AED 70 each, so 5 for 150 was without a doubt a sweet deal.
The cocktails were 10/10. Even the fussiest mixologists in our group were impressed. My favourites were…
Jerk Shack Margarita – not too spicy, lovely sweet mango flavour with a kick

Watermelon Spritz – perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with a lovely watermelon taste

The wine was also pretty decent. Drinks are redeemed with little tickets, which is such a fun way to keep track of how many you’ve had, because who can count to five after three cocktails?

We ordered food separately. Fair warning, if you don’t do spice, you’ll struggle. Almost everything on the menu has a kick. For me, the spice was actually quite tame, but for my friend, not so much. We didn’t order much food but the highlights for me were…
Legendary Jerk Chicken – very nice, but didn’t pack the punch I expected, and a bit tricky to eat sitting low
Mini Beef Jamaican Patties – lovely and spicy, highly recommend

Salt Cod Fritters – Deliciously crisp and flaky in the middle.

Overall, the food was pretty good, but not the main reason we were there.
The servers were a mix of Caribbean and Filipino, all friendly, helpful, and had a bit of cheeky Carribbean attitude. The real party didn’t start until around 11pm. By then, the place was packed, and we had to give up our cosy corner, but we were warned in advance, so all fair.
The DJ was great, the music was infectious, and we even had a little boogie while finishing our drinks. Close your eyes, and you could swear you were on a Caribbean island at the local bar.
Miss Lily’s Tuesday party night is perfect if you want a fun, lively night out in Dubai. Drinks are a must, the patties are worth ordering, and the vibe is absolutely contagious. Definitely a different kind of night out, and one we’ll be back for.
I’d recommend booking in advance like we did, especially since the place is quite small and it gets rammed once the party starts. You can reserve your table [here].
Just to be clear, I paid for this night out myself and have no affiliation with Miss Lily’s, everything you’ve read here is my honest opinion.
