My Favourite Outdoor Markets in Dubai!

The best outdoor markets in Dubai? Some are obvious, but others are boutique pop-ups you’ll need my help to discover. Ready for the best? I’ve handpicked the top markets—so come on let’s explore!

Ripe Market The Biggest Outdoor Market In Dubai

ripe market dubai

  • Location – Academy Park
  • 14th October 2023 – May 2024
  • Saturday 9am-9pm, Sunday 9am – 7pm

Location

I finally made my way to the popular Ripe Market, nestled near The Mall of The Emirates on the police academy grounds. It’s kind of surprising I haven’t been here earlier, right? To enter, you pass through the police gates, which feels a bit unusual, but don’t worry, that’s the way in. Once inside, there’s plenty of free parking available. Entrance fee? Just a high five—or, well, okay, five dirhams!

A Hub of Stalls

When you step inside, like me, you’ll be awestruck by the market’s enormity—over 200 stalls! Buzzing with a festival atmosphere, local vendors display an array of treats: organic produce, gluten-free goodies, bone broth—you name it!

Food Delights

Get ready for a flavour extravaganza! Kol Korean serves up ribs that are out of this world (trust me, I’ve tried them), while Baofriend, Boston Lane Café, Pizza Di Rocco, Egg Buns, and Mr. Brisket dish out some seriously tasty bites. And the best part? There’s ample shaded seating, making your dining experience super comfy!

Entertainment and Fun

There was also an amazing kids’ zone with plenty of activities for the little ones. Yes, there’s a lot happening here—so check the daily schedule for activities ranging from live music to yoga. Just a heads up: pets aren’t allowed in this market, which is unfortunate because it’s a lovely, spacious outdoor area with plenty of shade.

It’s thumbs up from me!

If you’re seeking a lively outdoor market experience in Dubai, then undoubtedly, Ripe Market is worth a visit. It promises an enjoyable outing

Global Village: Where the Fun Never Ends!

My ultimate outdoor market crush in Dubai combines the best of a market and an amusement park! With its irresistible charm, it’s a place I revisit yearly. Psst, it’s wallet-friendly—just 27 dirhams on weekends!

Explore 90 Countries

Imagine Disneyland merging with a world tour—bringing nightly cultural shows, thrilling rides, and a shopper’s paradise! Explore 90 countries under one roof, each with unique shops and delectable food stalls.

Foodie Heaven

Get ready to dive into my Global Village tasting menu! We kick things off at the floating market, a Thai haven where you’ll find me drooling over Tom Yum sauce grilled mussels, Tom Yum seafood rice, and the heavenly mango sticky rice.

Next up, Fiesta Street is where you’ll experience a slice of pizza paradise at PizzaZ. And guess what? Japan Pavilion’s bubble tea is a must-sip! Still hungry? Get ready to make some tough choices: Toro Fries (mixed with truffle and hot sauce), lobster rolls from Food Street, Bosnian kebabs, and Bun kebabs at the Pakistani pavilion. Oh, and for a viral sensation, you’ve got to try Lasange’s cheesy lasagna—the TikTok hype is real!

Dessert Delights

Got a sweet tooth? Head over to Eat Street Lane for churros with cinnamon sugar that’ll knock your socks off! And don’t miss Big Bang’s miracle French toast dessert—seriously divine. Another fantastic dessert option is the Japanese cheesecake at the Japanese pavilion.

Portions are perfectly bite-sized and won’t break the bank, so eat your heart out! Just a word of warning: one visit will not be enough!

Carnival Fun for Everyone

There’s something for everyone at the amazing carnival—over 170 rides, games, and attractions! From epic rides for thrill-seekers to kiddie fun and 125+ arcade games, it’s a joy for all ages. Explore Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! with 250 exhibits—a quirky must-see!

Best Time to Visit

Plan your visit after dark when the real magic unfolds with breathtaking illuminations that turn the pavilions into a truly enchanting spectacle. You can’t truly claim you’ve experienced Global Village until you’ve witnessed these captivating displays. The place is a goldmine for Instagram-worthy spots—your photo albums will practically burst at the seams!

Spectacular Fireworks Finale!

End your adventure in style! Catch the dazzling fireworks show every Friday and Saturday at 9 pm. It’s the perfect way to cap off a day filled with cultural explorations! Though, if you’re willing to ditch the fireworks, weekdays offer shorter queues, pocket-friendlier tickets, and extra elbow room for a delightful visit.

Pop Up Market

Ah, the wonders of Dubai’s monthly designer pop-up scene! Recently, I stumbled upon the Arabian Ranches Polo Club pop-up—it was a real treasure trove, I must say! Not only did I snag some one-of-a-kind pieces, but I also had a fantastic time chatting with the owners and designers, making my shopping experience feel truly special and incredibly exciting.

The Boutique Market Experience

Let’s talk about the market itself—this boutique market? It’s the Aladdin’s cave of goodies. From clothing to accessories, candles to beach blankets—name it, they’ve got it all. I managed to snag limited-edition pieces from Melanie Gissing Design (cue a proud grin) and eye-catching earrings from Maria Bello Jewels. That’s right, I’m accessorizing like a pro now.

Stay in the Loop

Pro tip: Stay in the know by stalking—I mean, following them on Instagram. You wouldn’t want to miss their upcoming pop-up events. Follow here – @marinasouq
